Chronic Diseases

Arab and Muslim Americans have historically been overlooked and understudied groups confronting distinctive inequalities. Factors such as cultural barriers, language access issues, discrimination, and lack of targeted healthcare and political initiatives contribute to these disparities.

Stigma surrounding mental health within Arab and Muslim American communities impedes individuals from seeking help. Furthermore, there is a scarcity of culturally appropriate mental health services tailored to their needs, resulting in inadequate support for those grappling with mental health issues.

Arab and Muslim Americans face higher rates of chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases. Socio-economic factors and lifestyle habits contribute to these disparities, accentuating the need for targeted interventions and preventive measures.

Political Disparities

Arab and Muslim Americans face significant underrepresentation in political offices, limiting their ability to advocate for their communities' interests and shape policies that affect them directly.
