Founded in 2021, Legislative Lift has hosted world-renowned Muslim Law Professors, Politicians, Doctors, and Activists. Events have been held at schools ranging from local Islamic schools to Stanford University.

Husam Ramadan 

President 

Husam Ramadan is a Muslim Egyptian-American student with a strong academic focus on humanities, particularly in politics and economics. His diverse interests span multiple areas of public policy, including law, immigration, urban design, and foreign relations. Ramadan plans to pursue higher education in political science. He aims to develop expertise in urban development and policy-making.

Ahmed Sheik

Chief Strategy Officer

Mohammad graduated with high distinction from UC Berkeley and aspires to pursue a career in medicine. He helped found a women's transitional home in Fresno, CA and is passionate about supporting the impoverished.

Co-Founder & Executive Director

Abdelrahman Elnaggar is committed to breaking down language barriers for refugees and Muslim communities. He leads a national public health initiative that integrates language support with educational health services. Additionally, he pioneered the Scholar Program to provide marginalized communities with inspiring role models to empower future generations.

Vice President

     Dean is a 18-year-old Palestinian who works on community development and is the regional director of the East Coast. Primarily the states of New York and New Jersey. Dean aspires to study law at Harvard University.

Women's Event Director

     Imani is a 19-year-old Afro-Latina devoted to aiding the underrepresented. Imani aspires to continue her studies at New York University and hopes to be a positive role model for youth in the community.

ABRAHAM AIYASH

Michigan State Representative

Abraham Aiyash is an American politician and activist serving as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives from the 4th district. The district covers much of Detroit's Midtown, New Center, North End, Boston Edison, Virginia Park, and all of the city of Hamtramck.

MOUAZ MOUSTAFA

Executive Director for the Syrian Emergency Task Force 


Mr. Moustafa was born and raised in Damascus, Syria before moving to the US as a teenager. As a former staffer for Congressman Vic Snyder and Senator Blanche Lincoln, Mr. Moustafa spent several years working on Capitol Hill. Mr. Moustafa joined SETF as the Executive Director in the fall of 2011 to help advocate on behalf of the pro-democracy movement in his native Syria. Mr. Moustafa also works closely with the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, the defector Caesar, and the Gravedigger, a witness to mass graves in Syria from 2011-2017, to bring awareness to the atrocities taking place in Syria.

SHIRIN SINNAR

Profesor at Stanford Law School

Shirin Sinnar is a Profesor at Stanford Law School. She writes and teaches on the topics of terrorism, national security, hate crimes, and civil rights litigation. She is a graduate of Stanford Law School (J.D. 2003), Cambridge University (M. Phil. International Relations 1999), and Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges (summa cum laude, A.B. History 1998).
